Personality: Like her father and mother before her, she's a spirited and adventurous young mare. She's determined to the point of annoyance and doesn't understand the concept of not being able to accomplish something. When she was younger, she was playful and very taunting to the bachelors who showed any interest in her. She settles down when she becomes a mother and develops a fierce protective edge.

Background: First foal of Spirit and Rain. Was born very close to the winter so she had a very rocky beginning, but in the end it made her tougher. As she grew up a litte she became pretty dominant over the other foas her age. When she was 3 years old, she took off to strike up a herd on her own. She never really had to deal with humans like her parents did, and she was convnced by her mother that humans weren't such a bad thing. Roving stallions were a problem but she ran most of them off since most were just big-headed idiots.
When she's about 4, she is "saved" by a mustang named Irish and realizing his knowledge of the surrounding canyons, she stays with him and eventually falls in love with him. She soon becomes pregnant with Night. Irish, who has a reputation with rustlers and is always being chased, notices the danger he put Aleta in and chases her away. Aleta runs away and soon finds a lone stallion named Killdeer. He protects her and soon enough, more horses join their herd.
